Description

Objective:

The Enterprise Life Cycle Logistics Management course prepares the life cycle logistician to perform in senior-level life cycle logistics management and policy-making positions. Professionals are required to conduct research, engage in critical thinking exercises, and perform leadership responsibilities in a small group decision-making environment. The course utilizes a threaded exercise where professionals will apply the Adaptive Acquisition Framework to the Defense Acquisition System (DAS) in delivering effective, suitable, survivable, sustainable, and affordable solutions to the end user in a timely manner.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) Acquisition of Services pathway delineated in DoDI 5000.74 to an acquisition program to enable effective, affordable Product Support Management.
  • Develop a product support strategy focusing on supportability and sustainment elements applicable to the Urgent Capability Acquisition pathway.
  • Analyze Product Support Management for the Middle Tier of Acquisition (MTA) Pathway.
  • Given the Major Capability Acquisition Pathway, determine the key roles and responsibilities for a Product Support Manager (PSM).
  • Recognize the Product Support Manager’s role and responsibilities for the Software Acquisition Pathway.
  • Given the Defense Business Systems Pathway, create product support documents used by the PSM.
  • Given a scenario, assess the impact of Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) across the Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
  • Apply the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) to the Defense Acquisition System (DAS) in delivering effective, suitable, survivable, sustainable, and affordable solutions to the end user in a timely manner.
