Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide an introduction to partnership and corporate accounting and financial statement analysis.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Calculate interest on promissory notes and record related transactions
  • Calculate depreciation
  • Discuss the issuance, recording, and reporting of capital stock, paid-in capital, dividend distributions and related journal entries
  • Prepare journal entries to write off bad debt and subsequent recovery of receivables
  • Explain time value concepts and apply to Bonds and other accounting and other business situations
  • Identify advantages and disadvantages of the sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation
  • Compute financial ratios
