Description

## Objective:

The AP Calculus AB and BC Exams assess student understanding of the mathematical practices and learning objectives outlined in the course framework. The exams are both 3 hours and 15 minute long and include 45 multiple-choice questions and 6 free-response questions.

While the AP Calculus AB and BC Exams are identical in structure, they differ in the number of units covered (8 for AB and 10 for BC) and in the weighting of each unit on the exam.

Section I. Multiple-choice
Part A: Graphing calculator not permitted, 30 questions, 33.% of score, 60 minutes
Part B: Graphing calculator required, 15 questions, 16.7% of score, 45 minutes

Section II. Free-response questions
Part A: Graphing calculator required, 2 questions, 16.7% of score, 30 minutes
Part B: Graphing calculator not permitted, 4 questions, 33.3% of score, 60 minutes
