Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enable students to build upon the knowledge and lessons learned in the Personnel Security Adjudications Course (PSAC). This course covers personnel security case studies and issues that a senior adjudicator may encounter in the day-to-day work environment. The security eligibility determinations are based on review of Personnel Security Investigations (PSI), which contain significant derogatory information. The course covers the review of significant derogatory information, requesting additional information, evaluation of significant derogatory and/or additional information, writing Statements of Reason (SOR), reviewing rebuttals, making final determinations, and reviewing reconsideration requests.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate comprehension of the advanced skills required to make final adjudicative determinations for security eligibility, and administer due process procedures when necessary
  • Prepare statement of reasons (SOR)
  • Adjudicate significant derogatory information in cases during initial post-adjudicative and reconsideration reviews
  • Analyze, identify, and adjudicate significant derogatory information in cases during initial post adjudicative and reconsideration reviews
  • Review replies to SOR and document final determinations after drawing a conclusion based on the facts analyzed
