Description

Objective:

The course objective is to apply the integrative study of financial management through security problems and case studies to become more effective as a security leader in the DoD.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply sound financial management principles to the planning and evaluation of an existing security program.
  • Conduct an operational and financial analysis on a security program.
  • Based on the financial analysis of a security program, develop alternative actions to avoid potential budget cuts.
  • Using systems and services requirements, create and justify a budget to procure, deploy, and sustain security program capabilities.
  • Discuss importance of maintaining a management reserve for security program budgeting and how to avoid becoming a target for financial cuts.
  • Discuss management strategies for coping with resource reductions to a security program.
