Description

Objective:

The course objective is to demonstrate comprehension of the purpose, intent, procedures, and application of the DoD Personnel Security Program in reaching personnel security determinations.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate fundamental ability to research, analyze, weigh, decide, and act on given personnel security information
  • Cite the basis for and the security concerns associated with each adjudicative criterion and apply those to given personnel security cases
  • Apply appropriate security and privacy policies and procedures
  • Determine that requests for or reports of investigation, security clearance eligibility, and/or national security sensitive assignment eligibility determinations are valid, complete, or can be acted upon
  • State the current national security adjudicative criteria to include, the concern, disqualifying conditions, and mitigating factors and the manner in which they are to be applied in a given case
  • Evaluate results of investigation and reports of derogatory information against the current adjudicative criteria to determine appropriateness of actions already taken and additional actions warranted in each case
  • prepare clear and concise summaries documenting favorable and/or unfavorable decisions and maintain necessary records
