Description

Objective:

Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to successfully obtain evidence, interview experts, and interact with claimants. It will also provide a better understanding of the liability claims environment and the process of evaluating bodily injury claims.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will learn which coverage and liability questions to ask during an investigation, as well as how to obtain evidence and comprehensive statements.
  • Students will be able to determine liability in a premises security liability claim, as well as have knowledge of the legal principles behind products liability and common sources of specialized claims.
  • Students will gain an understanding of HO-3 liability coverages, personal umbrella liability insurance, commercial general liability coverage, the businessowners policy, excess and umbrella liability insurance, professional liability insurance, and cyber risk insurance policies.
  • Students will become familiar with assessing liability claims, such as liquor liability and environmental liability. They will learn how common law and bailment concepts apply to liability claims.
