Description

Objective:

The course objective is to master commercial coverage fundamentals, how to navigate important forms, and how different insurer roles interact with businesses to select coverage and pay claims.

Learning Outcomes:

  • understand commercial property exposures, assess business income exposures, understand commercial liability exposures, identify commercial auto and transportation exposures, and examine workers compensation exposures.
  • understand the concepts of the commercial general liability policy, coverage for bodily injury and property damage liability, personal and advertising injury coverage, and medical payments coverage under the CGL.
  • be able to break down business auto coverage, workers compensation and employers liability insurance, excess and umbrella liability coverage, equipment breakdown coverage, commercial crime coverage, and inland marine coverage.
  • learn about who is eligible for businessowner policies, the BOP, BOP property coverage, and BOP liability coverage.
  • explore the characteristics of commercial property coverage while applying the BPP, breaking down the BPP’s additional and optional coverages, exploring the business income coverage form, and mastering business income coverage limits and coinsurance conditions.
  • learn the evolving role of the commercial underwriter, including the role of the commercial producer, and will acquire a better understanding of how data analytics is transforming commercial claims.
