Description

Objective:

The course objective is to develop the skills to manage a defense distribution facility with emphasis on the major depot functions of receiving, storing, packaging, physical inventory, issuing, transportation, resource management, and controlling of materiel.

  • Determine resource allocation priorities based on a multiple objective criteria
  • Determine the effects of planned workload on backlog, unit cost, and due date performance
  • Make sound managerial decisions while reacting to dynamic perturbations within the system
  • Perform the management and operations of the defense distribution system including the major depot functions of receiving, storing, packaging, physical inventory, issuing, transportation, resource management, and controlling of materiel
  • Calculate resource needs (labor, equipment, and budget) for performing daily depot operations
