Description

Objective:

The course objective is to present principles, concepts, and applications of Logistics Engineering dealing with the application of mathematical concepts and engineering methods to solve logistics problems. The material presented focuses on acquisition logistics as performed in the Department of Defense (DoD).

Learning Outcomes:

  • Analyze reliability, availability, and maintainability metrics, reliability, availability and maintainability requirements, and their influence on logistics planning
  • Evaluate logistics metrics given maintenance factors
  • Understand the logistics/supportability analysis process and use associated methods and tools
  • Understand the concepts used in logistics engineering, how logistics engineering integrates logistics into a systems life cycle, and the language of logistics
  • Evaluate logistics engineering metrics and analyze the impact these metrics have on support
  • Develop maintenance concepts/policies
