Operating Engineers 324 is part of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), founded in 1896. Chartered in 1906, OE324 today represents nearly 16,000 Michigan workers who build, operate and maintain the infrastructure and facilities the state depends on. Its members operate heavy equipment on roads, bridges, buildings, energy projects, pipelines and other large-scale construction; technicians repair and maintain that equipment; and Stationary Engineers operate and maintain complex boiler, HVAC, and building systems.

OE324 helps its members build long-term, family-supporting careers through U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship programs and continuing education, quality wages and benefits, and the protections of collective bargaining agreements. For more than a century, Operating Engineers 324 has provided Michigan with the safe, highly trained workforce that keeps Michigan running.
