Moving the Needle: Advancing Women Leaders

GOAL 1:

Generate a national sense of urgency elevating the need for advancing women in higher education leadership position

GOAL 2:

Encourage governing boards and other higher education institutional decision-making and policymaking bodies to consider recommended practices for recruiting and hiring women to chief executive offices.

GOAL 3:

Achieve women’s advancement to mid-level and senior-level positions in higher education administration by building capacities in women and in institutions.

GOAL 4:

Suggest recommended practices and models and recognize success in advancing women in higher education.

What will the ACE Women’s Network Moving the Needle (MTN) liaisons do?

  • The ACE Women’s Networks are beginning to examine their environment and their work through the lens of the four Moving the Needle goals. Each MTN liaison will be the point of contact for sharing and collecting that information as it relates each specific MTN goal.
  • How will the liaisons in each region operate?
  • The ACE Women’s Networks are mapped into four regions across the nation. Each region has four liaisons, one representing each unique MTN goal.
  • The MTN liaison is the point of contact between the MTN Goal Group leaders and the ACE Women’s Networks in their region. They facilitate the sharing of information as it relates to the Moving the Needle: Advancing Women Leaders initiative.

MTN goal liaisons will:

  • Disseminate informational updates, presentations, etc., to their region related to the goal they represent>
  • Participate in monthly Goal Group Leaders Conference Call
  • Participate in the annual convening of all MTN Goal Groups
  • Be listed as the point of contact for a specific MTN goal in their network region.
