ACE Announces Three-Part Webinar Series on Advancing Military Learner Success
October 20, 2025

ACE will spotlight the experiences of military-connected students in a new three-part webinar series, Advancing Military Learner Success, that will feature conversations with military learners, faculty leaders, and innovators about building stronger pathways for military-connected students and advancing military learner success.

The series, running Nov. 4–6, will explore military learner challenges, faculty perspectives on credit for prior learning (CPL), and tools that connect education to careers. Each hourlong session will be hosted by ACE’s Michele Spires and feature a diverse expert panel.

The series opens Nov. 4 with Listen to Military Learner Voices, which will feature a panel of military learners sharing their experiences in higher education. Panelists will discuss hurdles such as credit transfer, financial barriers, and institutional culture, while underscoring why CPL and flexible pathways matter. Interactive polling and guided discussion will give participants a direct look at how service impacts learner persistence and mobility.

On Nov. 5, the series turns to faculty who apply CPL on campus. In Faculty Insights on Military CPL, professors and academic leaders will explore how ACE’s evaluation process connects with institutional assessments, how to balance rigor with access, and how to address common misconceptions. Panelists will highlight how thoughtful CPL practices can support student progression and strengthen institutional outcomes.

The final session, Tools in Action, Connecting Pathways on Nov. 6, will highlight tools and partnerships that help learners turn military experience into academic and career advancement. Panelists will demonstrate how resources like the Military Guide, National Guide, and Career Path DECIDE clarify credit opportunities and connect learners to meaningful careers. They will also share examples of impact and explore strategies to expand reach.

This series is being led by ACE’s Learning Evaluations program, whose mission is to help adult learners turn experience into college credit. Its Military Guide is the official source for credit recommendations based on military training and occupations, supporting academic institutions in awarding college credit to military-connected learners.
