ACE’s Internationalization Lab Turns 20
January 31, 2022

Applications Now Open for the 2022-24 Cohort

Colleges and universities ready to transform their campuses’ approaches to global education should apply now for the next cohort of ACE’s Internationalization Laboratory. Launched in 2003, this will be the Lab’s 20th year, with over 175 institutions participating during that time. Selected participants will begin about 18 months of work in late summer 2022.

The ACE Internationalization Laboratory is a collaborative, inclusive learning community led by a team of internationalization experts with a wide range of backgrounds and experience that supports institutions in developing capacity, agility, and strategic vision for equitable comprehensive internationalization.

Participating institutions will work in leadership teams to develop strategic plans that will focus campus attention on internationalization, with the goal of long-lasting institutional change. ACE staff and a group of advisors provide assistance to the institutional teams as they engage in a comprehensive review of internationalization efforts on campus, including self-assessment, site visits, peer reviews, and a final report.

Today’s major challenges around internationalization means institutions now more than ever are in need of strategies to make sure internationalization is incorporated into their priorities. There are many synergies between internationalization and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. You can learn more about this at the  ACE/AIEA Internationalization Collaborative event in February, and can register to attend online or in-person. Similarly, ACE’s Internationalization Lab experts work in close concert with the Learner Success Lab program and often bring in joint learning opportunities or discuss lessons learned.

To apply, go to the ACE Internationalization Lab web page and fill out the brief application form in the side bar.  If you are interested but require more information to make your decision, you will also find in that sidebar a request for information form. Financial assistance may be available and will be prioritized for institutions that apply early and that have financial need.
