Becoming a Faculty Evaluator

Get Started

ACE Wants You to Serve as a Faculty Evaluator!

We are always looking for new faculty evaluators who are receptive to recommending academic credit for learning in an extra-institutional setting. As an evaluator, you can:

  • Evaluate learning and make college credit recommendations
  • Enhance access and degree completion for independent learners
  • Network and collaborate with peers
  • Earn an honorarium, have fun, and travel
  • Fulfill your obligation of service to the community
  • Promote quality and consistency in credit awards.

If you are teaching college-level courses at an accredited institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and have been teaching for at least five years, we invite you to apply to join our team.

Note that evaluators for apprenticeship programs may also be master instructors in the industry.

Evaluators working on military reviews must be U.S. citizens.

High Needs Areas

We need faculty from all disciplines, but we especially need faculty whose expertise aligns to military and workforce training. We also need master apprenticeship instructors to evaluate apprenticeships in their fields.

To apply or to update your information currently on file, please visit the Faculty Evaluator portal. If you are newly applying to serve as an evaluator, you will need to register for an account first. Upon activation by ACE, you may then submit the application. You will be asked to attach a current resume or curriculum vitae. You will receive a notification when we process your application.

Selection and Review Process

After your application is accepted, ACE will contact you for availability if an upcoming review requires your area of expertise. We will also contact you periodically to request updates to your profile.

ACE creates specialized teams for each review based on the required academic areas, the balance between new and experienced evaluators, diversity in the representation of the type of higher education institution, and the overall composition of the team.

ACE pays all evaluators a fixed fee and reimburses approved travel expenses.
