ACE Executive Search Roundtable

​​​​​​For over 30 years, the ACE Executive Search Roundtable has brought together nonprofit and for-profit organizations to address the mutual interests of ACE and executive search firms in identifying talented leaders for U.S. colleges and universities.

The Roundtable supports ACE's work to:

  • Improve the quality of leadership in higher education.
  • Diversify leadership in terms of gender, race, and ethnicity.
  • Promote the highest standards in the search and selection process.
  • Educate the higher education community about search processes with or without the use of consultants.

Roundtable members agree to:

  • Subscribe to the highest standards of integrity and principles of quality, diversity, equity, and ethical practice.
  • Commit to conducting equitable searches to foster diversity and the highest quality of leadership for the educational community.
  • Assist candidates in understanding the role of the consultant in the search process.
  • Ensure that client institutions provide search consultants and candidates with all relevant and current data, including financial information, needed in the search.
  • Respect the confidentiality of clients and candidates and obtain client approval before sharing information.

​Benefits of Executive Search Roundtable Membership

Roundtable members enjoy all the year-round benefits of ACE’s Affiliate Members Program, as well as these additional, exclusive benefits:

  • Listing in an online executive search firm directory to include one primary contact, contact information, a link to the firm’s website, and a brief summary of the firm’s specialized searches. Listings are searchable by specific search types.
  • An ACE-hosted annual Executive Search Roundtable convening, where search consultants from a broad range of firms meet, network, and exchange best practices. Held in conjunction with the ACE Annual Meeting, the convening includes continental breakfast and lunch.
  • Periodic invitations to serve as a panelist, mentor, and/or coach during select programs hosted by ACE’s Education Futures division.
  • Annual conference call with ACE senior leaders to discuss current trends, challenges, and solutions in higher education.
  • Use of the Executive Search Roundtable logo throughout the firm's membership term. ​​
  • Periodic opportunities to co-curate relevant content for ACE ENGAGE®, an online professional learning platform.

Eligibility

Executive Search Roundtable members include nonprofit and for-profit organizations specializing in higher education executive search. Member firms, and the consultants who represent them, assist institutions in searches for senior leadership positions, providing executive search, recruitment, and related consulting services to colleges, universities, and related nonprofit institutions and organizations.

Annual ACE affiliate membership is required for all participating Executive Search Roundtable organizations.


Membership Term, Dues, and Pricing

The membership term is 12 months, starting on October 1 and expiring on September 30 each year.

Members of the Executive Search Roundtable are required to make an annual commitment to the ACE Affiliate Members Program, based on their total full-time employees. An additional $250 annual dues fee is also required for specific affiliation with the Executive Search Roundtable. This fee goes toward offsetting the costs associated with hosting the annual roundtable meeting.

Annual dues are based on the number of full-time employees, plus the additional $250 contribution as follows:

  • Under 50: $2,575
  • 50–499: $4,635​
  • 500–4,999: $6,18​0
  • 5,000 or more: $7,725​
