Institutions are being challenged on multiple levels to recognize military training to meet requirements in degree programs. All too often colleges and universities are engaged in time-consuming processes that do not build on effective practice and emerging models for adaption. This can result in little to no credit awarded due to a lack of straightforward equivalencies, or at the other extreme, excessive elective credit, causing more harm than good to a student veteran’s SAP. This 2-part webinar convenes a group of representatives from two-and four-year institutions that have put effective processes into place and begun to build “maps to credentials” for a range of degree programs.
During Part 1, learn more from these experts about the steps they developed, from creation and approval to dissemination and evaluation, and the stakeholders they engaged, as well as resources and timelines required.
In Part 2, view examples of degree maps articulating military training and occupations and providing options to fulfill competency gaps.
