Following the May 11, 2023 federal declaration marking the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, ACE adheres to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance. The CDC posts Travel Health Notices to inform travelers about global health risks during outbreaks, special events or gatherings, and natural disasters and to provide advice about protective actions travelers can take to prevent infection or adverse health effects.
We will regularly monitor and update health and safety precautions as necessary for all in-person meetings and events through trusted national resources, state and local public health agencies, and the hotels and venues hosting our events.
We will modify ACE’s policies and procedures for a particular meeting or event—even at the last moment—if it is the reasonable and responsible thing to do considering any concurrent public health emergency.
Health and Safety
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for in-person meetings and events, we recommend that all participants should:
Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations, including all primary series doses and boosters for their age group
Wear a mask while traveling and indoors if at they are at high risk for severe illness
Honor the choice of others to wear a mask or maintain physical distancing; see the CDC’s guidance regarding masks
Stay home if they feel unwell, or if they knowingly were exposed to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases
Participants who are knowingly unwell should:
Stay home and cancel their registration prior to the meeting or event
Not participate in any additional meetings or event activities, nor should they have physical contact with other participants, if they test positive for COVID-19 or other communicable diseases onsite
Notify ACE staff of the event attended or email annualmeeting@acenet.edu if they were exposed to a communicable disease and require assistance
