Service members and veterans often enter higher education with extensive technical training, occupational experience, leadership development, and other forms of learning acquired during military service. Credit for prior learning (CPL) allows colleges and universities to recognize this learning through academic credit, potentially reducing time to degree, lowering educational costs, and supporting learner mobility.
