Webinars are free, 30- to 90-minute virtual events. ACE experts, campus leaders, and other voices from within and beyond higher education discuss critical questions and promising practices around a timely topic. Registrants have the opportunity to share their questions during the live event and to access the recording afterward.

About the Webinar

When institutions get credit for prior learning (CPL) right, the impact on military learners is transformative—in credit hours awarded, semesters saved, and degrees completed. However, what does “getting it right” actually look like from a learner’s perspective?

Hear from service members and veterans who successfully used CPL to accelerate their postsecondary education. They will talk about what their institutions did well, including transcript evaluation, advising, and student support, as well as how those practices shaped their path to a credential and a career.

Registrants will hear:

  • Firsthand accounts of how institutional CPL policies translated into real academic and career outcomes
  • Specific examples of what effective advising, credit evaluation, and support looks like in practice for military learners
  • Ideas for strengthening their institution’s approach to serving military learners through CPL

This roundtable is for registrars, admissions professionals, advisors, faculty, and anyone who is passionate about improving outcomes for military learners through CPL.

This session is part of the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Today’s Military Learners initiative, supported by Lilly Endowment.
