New ACE Leadership Program Will Help Prepare Administrators for the Chief Academic Office

June 05, 2017

College hallway

The application is now open for a new ACE Leadership program designed specifically for mid-career administrators (typically department chairs and above) who will be seeking a chief academic officer (CAO) position within the next two years.

Similar to ACE’s Advancing to the Presidency workshop, Advancing to the Chief Academic Office will focus specifically on the tools and skills necessary to ascend to the next level of college and university administration.

The workshop will be held Oct. 2-3 in Washington, DC.

The tentative meeting agenda includes sessions on:

  • Developing an effective CAO search strategy;
  • Practical training, including mock video-taped interviews and CV/resume critiques;
  • Gaining a better understanding of the search process through candid conversations with search firm executives;
  • Contract negotiation;
  • Transitioning successfully into a CAO position;
  • CAO leadership.

Click here to apply before space fills up. ACE will select approximately 30 individuals who represent diverse backgrounds across all different institutional types.
