The National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), in cooperation with ACE and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, will hold a workshop Feb. 28-March 1 in Miami on “Student Sexual Misconduct: Addressing Institutional Culture and Compliance.”
Although more than two years have passed since the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued its April 4, 2011, "Dear Colleague" letter on sexual violence, many institutions are still struggling to comply with the law and respond appropriately to their campus communities in what are often difficult situations.
The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (Campus SaVE) Act, which takes effect March 7, 2014, has only added to the already significant body of regulations and guidance with which institutions must comply.
This one-and-a-half day workshop will address a wide range of issues related to student sexual misconduct, including campus culture, institutional policies, training and education, investigations, hearings, OCR compliance reviews and resolution agreements, and Title IX lawsuits.
