ACE Names Members to Advisory Commissions on Leadership, Inclusion and Lifelong Learning

January 24, 2012

ACE today named members to its three recently restructured advisory commissions on leadership, inclusion and lifelong learning. These commissions will play a vital role in advising ACE on mission-related issues and guiding the Council in initiating new programs and policies.

Commission members are selected based on many factors, including the desire to represent the full range of ACE membership, involve member presidents new to the organization, and appoint representatives with specialized knowledge or interests. The commissions were restructured in 2011 to better align with internal ACE units and to permit the inclusion of other senior leaders. However, the majority of members will remain sitting ACE member presidents and chancellors. Terms are three years in length, with initial terms staggered to ensure smooth rotation.

“ACE is grateful to the presidents and senior leaders who have agreed to serve on these advisory commissions,” said Gretchen M. Bataille, ACE senior vice president for Leadership and Lifelong Learning. “We know they will bring great insight into how ACE can best tackle the challenges facing American higher education today.”
