Leaders hoping to transition to the role of college or university president are likely to have many questions. Senior administrators (typically at the Dean’s level or above) working towards obtaining a presidency position within the next two years can apply now for the Advancing to the Presidency Workshop.
Scheduled for April 23-24, 2018, in Washington, DC, the workshop aims to provide leaders with the tools and skills necessary to secure a position as a college or university chief executive, such as honing in on the types of institutions likely to be a good fit, building a keen understanding of the search process, and developing a concrete plan for transition into the position.
Participants can expect to receive practical training, including mock video-taped interviews and CV/resume critiques, obtain an understanding of the search process through candid conversations with search firm executives, and learn the ins and outs of contract negotiation.
Limited space is available, so interested individuals should apply promptly to secure a spot. Advancing to the Presidency is open to those who hold senior executive positions across all different types of institutions.
A small number of partial scholarships are available to defray the cost of the program fee for those who would not otherwise be able to attend. You must complete both the program application and the scholarship application to be considered.
