ACE’s Spectrum Aspiring Leaders Program Helps Diversify Leadership Pipeline

Designed to increase diversity among senior leaders in higher education, the upcoming Spectrum Aspiring Leadership Program will combine interactive programming focused on honing leadership skills with networking opportunities and strategic career mapping.

Mid-level administrators (typically department chairs, directors and assistant/associate deans) from diverse backgrounds can now register for the two-day program on April 24-25 in Dallas.

Participants will have the opportunity to assess their current competencies and receive advice on creating a professional development plan to enhance their career trajectory.

A highlight of the program is the opportunity to network with leaders across the nation in support of diversifying the pipeline to senior leadership in higher education. Previous program participants have remarked that they were able to gain a “wealth of information” and “greatly valued the ability to interact with high-level academic leaders who shared openly and honestly about their experiences.”

The meeting agenda also features sessions focusing on critical areas such as crisis management, working with governing boards, communicating with media, and focused resume and cover letter review.
