Aspiring and senior women leaders have opportunities to hone their leadership skills through ACE programs in the coming year.
The ACE Regional Women’s Leadership Forum enables mid-level administrators to cultivate leadership skills such as fundraising, strategic planning, career mapping and media relations. Participants also meet with search firms to prepare for a potential search process. The forums are held in various regions, and they bring women from across the nation together to expand their networks.
Through candid conversations and networking with women presidents and executive search consultants, participants can expect to gain exposure to the experiences, challenges and rewards of senior-level administrative positions, particularly the search process and day-to-day life on the job.
The next Forum will be held April 12-14 in Dallas. Space is limited, so those interested in participating should register before the March 1 deadline.
The ACE National Women's Leadership Forum is designed for senior-level women administrators (typically deans and above) seeking a presidency, vice presidency or major deanship.
The three-day program will be held June 21-23 in the Washington, DC, metro area. Space fills up quickly, so it is a good idea to register before the April 22 early bird deadline.
The National Women’s Leadership Forum fosters discussions with experienced women presidents and executive search consultants; helps participants hone critical leadership skills in areas such as fundraising, risk management and crisis response; and provides a better understanding of the inherent rewards and challenges of a presidency.
Participants also will gain practical feedback on key elements of the search process through videotaped mock interviews and CV/resume critiques.
Throughout the course of both Forums, participants can also expect to share ideas and knowledge with their fellow attendees from a variety of academic backgrounds and institutional types and expand their viewpoints on issues facing higher education leaders today.
