ACE’s Center for Internationalization and Global Engagement (CIGE) is accepting applications for the 2018 Institute for Leading Internationalization, to be held June 10-12 in Alexandria, VA.
Designed to improve the effectiveness of anyone with a critical role in advancing internationalization on their campus, the Institute will provide practical examples, case studies, and effective practices to address internationalization challenges. The Institute will be followed by an ACE-supervised project, where each participant will apply what they have learned to a particular challenge or opportunity on their campus.
A team of seasoned international education experts and campus executives will serve as faculty, guiding participants through a series of sessions on international strategy, working with senior leadership, managing international partnerships, and fundraising.
Confirmed faculty include Fernando Delgado, executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, University of Minnesota Duluth, Brad Farnsworth, vice president, ACE, and Jane Gatewood, vice provost for global engagement, University of Rochester (NY).
Participants will learn how to:
- apply a comprehensive model of internationalization to the unique challenges and opportunities at their institution;
- work more effectively with their executive leadership team by acquiring a more strategic approach to internationalization; and
- raise the visibility and importance of internationalization by integrating it into their institution's mission and goals.
The Institute is ideal for campus-wide senior international officers, anyone leading international efforts in professional schools, and other senior leaders with internationalization in their portfolios, including deans. For some institutions, a combination of these individuals may be appropriate. Teams are encouraged to apply, and we offer a discount for teams from the same institution.
