New college and university leaders from all sectors of higher education should apply now for the 2017 ACE Institute for New Presidents before space runs out. The Institute is designed specifically for presidents in their first three years of service. The first session kicks off March 10-11, 2017, in Washington, DC.
“I highly recommend the ACE Institute for New Presidents. It is a practical, tailored guide for those in the early stages of a presidency, delivered in stages that allow for growth and in-depth discussions,” said Dr. Cheryl B. Schrader, chancellor, Missouri University of Science and Technology and former Institute participant. “The resulting network with both seasoned leaders and new president colleagues is unmatched.”
The Institute consists of two in-person meetings that are highly participatory, incorporating interactive panels with experienced presidents and other experts, mini-case studies presented by program participants, conversations with peers from a range of institutions, and briefings by national experts. Sessions are facilitated by seasoned and highly successful presidents and thought leaders.
Topics that will be explored include:
- Building a High-Performing Team
- Board Relations: Developing and Sustaining Trust
- Fundraising Essentials for Presidents
- Effective Use of Legal Counsel
- Crisis Planning and Response
- Working with the Media
The second session will be July 25-27, 2017 in Washington, DC.
