In today’s headlines, the Los Angeles Times writes that new statistics show that a greater percentage of California community college students were scheduled to pass remedial math and English courses last year but fewer were finishing school or transferring. Meanwhile, USA Today reports that higher education experts and states nationwide are keeping an eye on Tennessee after lawmakers there gave final approval to a plan to provide free community college to all high school graduates.
