Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education 2024 Status Report presents an updated overview of various topics in higher education—including undergraduate and graduate student enrollment, completion, student debt, and financing—by race and ethnicity. It also includes an overview of the racial and ethnic backgrounds of faculty, staff, and college presidents. The convening will explore key findings from the report. The Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education project creates a data-informed foundation from which the higher education community and its many stakeholders can examine racial disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes, draw insights, raise new questions, and make the case for why race still matters in American higher education. Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education 2024 Status Report was made possible through the generous support of the Mellon Foundation. The accompanying website was generously supported by the Mellon Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Be part of the conversation on May 21 at the American Council on Education (ACE) in Washington, DC or virtually via livestream as ACE releases Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2024 Status Report and updates to the accompanying website.

Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2024 Status Report presents an updated overview of various topics in higher education—including undergraduate and graduate student enrollment, completion, student debt, and financing—by race and ethnicity. To further this work, the office launched the Advancing Higher Education in Our States series to inform and strengthen critical engagements between higher education and its state governments, communities, and residents. Each webinar will bring together a panel of experts to explore ways that higher education institutions contribute in their communities and why fostering local connections is critical to the future of postsecondary education. The second webinar in the series—held in partnership with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)—will bring together business leaders and higher education experts. The panel will discuss the state of business education today as well as how business schools ensure access and high-quality academic offerings in a dynamic, state-level policy environment.
