Institutions participating in the Department of Defense (DoD) Tuition Assistance (TA) program have until Sept. 5 to sign a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) to ensure service members on their campuses continue to receive tuition support.
The new version incorporates a minor technical change from a version DoD released earlier this year. Institutions that have already signed that version must sign a new certification statement, available at www.dodmou.com.
The MOU was written in response to the Obama administration's April 2012 "Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Veterans, Spouses and Other Family Members," an effort to ensure service members have the information, support and protections they need to receive a quality postsecondary education, as well as ensure TA funding is being spent appropriately.
