Recent ACE research shows that while 57 percent of those enrolled in higher education are women, women constitute only 26 percent of college presidents. And while members of racial and ethnic minority groups make up 30 percent of college classrooms, only 13 percent of presidencies are held by these individuals.

The Asilomar Leadership Skills Seminar of the Community College League of California (CCLC) won the 2012 ACE Inclusive Excellence Group State Network Leadership Award for the Advancement of Women in Higher Education.

James M. Rosser, the sixth president of California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State L.A.), today was awarded the 2012 Reginald Wilson Diversity Leadership Award by ACE.

ACE presented Ruth J. Simmons, president of Brown University (RI), with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women's Leadership Dinner during the association's 94th Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, CA. Beverly Daniel Tatum, president of Spelman College (GA), was also honored with the Donna Shavlik Award for her ongoing commitment to women's issues in higher education at the event.
