US higher education interest in India is at an all-time high and the potential for engagement with Indian counterparts holds exciting possibilities for many US colleges and universities. Many institutional leaders across the United States have identified India as a "strategic priority," yet relatively few have at their fingertips the most current and reliable information about this immense, diverse and complex country.
The ACE Center for Internationalization and Global Engagment held an interactive webinar of higher education in India. This webinar and the accompanying printed brief explore the most timely and substantive issues that help define India’s higher education profile, as well as what all of this means for US higher education interests in that country.
The webinar featured three presentations by expert panelists, followed by a question and answer period. Topics addressed include:
- An Overview of Indian Higher Education: Key issues and critical challenges
- Engaging with the World: Legislative and policy developments for partnerships and collaborations
- Exploring Student Recruitment in India: A vision for the future
Accompanying the webinar is a printed (PDF) brief featuring 12 articles by experts in the field. Designed to complement the webinar and explore related topics in greater depth, the printed brief is an invaluable resource for campus leaders making strategic decisions about international programming and initiatives.
