Join a panel of representatives from institutions offering examples of effective practices in CPL information-sharing, advising, and degree planning.
Policy makers, state legislatures, and funders now realize that in order to increase educational attainment in the U.S., more adult learners must enroll in and complete postsecondary education programs. Emerging research offers evidence that credit for prior learning motivates nontraditional learners to return to school and obtain postsecondary credentials. At the same time, potential and current students often are unaware, confused, or frustrated about options for applying their prior learning to a degree program, due to a lack of clear and accessible information about prior learning assessment policies, practices, and pathways.
