Strengthening Higher Education: How States Can Lead Amidst Federal UncertaintyStrengthening Higher Education: How States Can Lead Amidst Federal Uncertaintyhttps://www.acenet.edu/Events/Pages/Strengthening-Higher-Education-States-Lead-Amidst-Federal-Uncertainty.aspxStrengthening Higher Education: How States Can Lead Amidst Federal Uncertainty Higher education continues to navigate earthshaking changes to long-standing federal policies, funding, and programs that are fundamentally complicating higher education’s engagement with the federal government. With no end in sight to this shifting federal landscape and the associated legal and process challenges, this webinar brings together state higher education experts to explore what can be done to adjust to these changes. There are emerging opportunities to partner with states and leverage state-based policies that can preserve and advance key elements of postsecondary education while reinforcing its value. In collaboration with the Brookings Institution’s Brown Center for Education Policy, we will assess the current landscape for state higher education policy, highlight state leadership strategies, and discuss potential next steps. Whether it’s funding, strengthening data, or aligning with broader state priorities, these experts will explore the avenues and opportunities for what’s present and possible in the states. The National Engagement Webinar Series brings together a panel of experts to tell the story of how Higher Education Builds America —how institutions show up in our home states and why fostering local connections is critical to the future of postsecondary education.
Higher education continues to navigate earthshaking changes to long-standing federal policies, funding, and programs that are fundamentally complicating higher education’s engagement with the federal government.
