Council of Fellows Weekend

Transforming Institutions

May 30, 2014

Summary

Online registration is closed for the annual Council of Fellows Weekend. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The annual Council of Fellows Weekend is a retreat for current and former ACE Fellows to network while gaining valuable professional development about current topics relevant to higher education leadership.

The 2014 Council of Fellows Weekend meets in Atlanta, GA and provides opportunities to learn about and reflect on powerful models of institutional transformation. Belle Wheelan, President of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, will deliver the keynote address.

The weekend retreat features a discussion with Bob Dickeson, author of Prioritizing Academic Programs and Services (1999 and 2010). Bob will present a "Prioritization Update: Observations Fifteen Years After." A panel of COF alumni will provide their perspectives on how the process worked at their institutions and there will be opportunity for questions from the audience.

Another panel, "Cutting Edge Developments from Georgia," will explore lessons learned from institutional mergers, predictive analytics, MOOC experiments, and student success initiatives. Other opportunities for learning include a pre-conference workshop, "Wisdom from Search Consultants," featuring advice and discussion with search representatives from Academic Search, Witt/Kieffer, and Greenwood/Asher & Associates.

The weekend also includes a reception and silent auction benefitting the COF Annual Fund, a breakfast forum on "Advice to Incoming Fellows from Current and Former Fellows," remarks from Lumina Fellow, Margarita Benitez, and the always informative, "Washington Update," from Terry Hartle.
