ACE Institute for New Chief Academic Officers

The ACE Institute for New Chief Academic Officers (CAOs) provides practical executive leadership development for CAOs in their first 3 years on the job.

Thank you for your interest in the ACE Institute for New Chief Academic Officers. This program is conducted 3 times during the year: July, November, and March. It is designed to provide practical executive leadership development for CAOs in their first 3 years on the job. Our goals are to identify topics and issues of immediate concern to new academic vice presidents and provide the means to address them. Each session is highly participatory, using a combination of discussions facilitated by experienced CAOs and presidents, case studies presented by program participants, conversations with peers from diverse institutions, and briefings by national experts.

Institute for New CAOs Class of 2017-18

Session One     July 25-27, 2017  - Washington, DC

Session Two     November 28-30, 2017 - Albuquerque, NM

Session Three  March 9-10, 2018 - Washington, DC

Fees:

ACE Member Institution: $5,800    |    Non-ACE Member Institution: $6,600

Fees are due after acceptance into the program; includes breakfast, lunch, and materials. Applicants are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses – discounted hotel rates are available. Visit the Location tab for details.  

Those who would not otherwise be able to attend, may request partial scholarships by emailing ACELeadership@acenet.edu.

Payment and Cancellations Policies

Full payment must be received prior to start of the program to confirm application. ACE accepts the following payment options:

  • Credit Card - All major credit cards accepted. Call 202-939-9376 to have payment processed by phone.
  • Check - Make payable to American Council on Education. Mail both check and invoice to:
