The Department of Education has released proposed regulations increasing institutional and programmatic accountability. These proposed rules include gainful employment, financial responsibility, and administrative capability, among others. A proposal to upend the current state reciprocity agreement is also included, which would create additional challenges for institutions offering distance education courses.
