Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare the student for transition from the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Associate Degree Nurse. Emphasis is placed on the role of the Registered Nurse (RN) in leadership, management, legal and ethical considerations, communication, teaching, and professional issues. Implementation of the nursing process will be used as a basis to improve critical thinking skills and decision making. The student will be required to create and present a client education teaching plan.

  • Apply the nursing process to demonstrate critical thinking skills in a variety of client situations
  • Evaluate factors that have influenced change and transitions in nursing
