Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide intensive enhancement training integrating language and area studies in order to develop professional-level skills in listening, reading and speaking. The Advanced Spanish Program is designed to help students expand their knowledge and understanding of the Spanish-speaking through listening, reading, speaking, grammar and area studies.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate their subject-matter expertise through oral presentations, written papers, and other creative products
  • Effectively research, organize, and use information from multiple sources
  • Synthesize and report research findings clearly, convincingly, and creatively for a professional audience
  • Perform tasks and functions in listening and reading at Level 3 or higher requiring understanding of the social science, military, science, and technology domains
  • Utilize critical thinking skills and create their own viewpoint
  • Respond to critical thinking, high-level questions from the audience
  • Perform tasks and functions in speaking at Level 2 or higher requiring understanding of the social science domains
