Darsella Vigil

Senior Analyst & Program Officer, Education Futures Lab

​Darsella Vigil is a senior research analyst at the American Council on Education. Vigil manages projects that analyze data on shared equity leadership; institutional change and transformation; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and race and racism in higher education. She also works on research-to-practice programming and curriculum for shared equity leadership and creates social learning opportunities for institutional leaders and their teams.​​​​

Vigil previously worked in research and administrative roles for nearly 15 years at two- and four-year institutions, where she leveraged her research expertise and mixed methodological training to inform the development of inclusive institutional policies, structures, and practices that advance equitable access and outcomes for marginalized students. She developed and delivered evidence-based trainings to faculty and staff on policies shaping access and equity for first-generation, low-income, immigrant, and undocumented students of color. She also taught research and methods courses as an adjunct faculty in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.​

​​​​​​Vigil is earning a PhD in higher education from the University of Denver. She has an MA in educational leadership, policy, and advocacy from New York University and a BA from the University of Northern Colorado.​
