Nominations Open for ACE Annual Awards

​​​Awards to be presented in-person at ACE2022

The nomination or application deadlines for five ACE annual awards are fast approaching.

Nominations are open until Dec. 1 for the ACE Donna Shavlik Award, the ACE State Network Leadership Award, and the Reginald Wilson Diversity Leadership Award. Applications are due Dec. 3 for the ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation. Nominations are open until Dec. 15 for the ACE Student of the Year award.

These are among the awards that will be presented in person at ACE2022, March 5-7 in San Diego.

ACE Donna Shavlik Award

The Donna Shavlik award was established by ACE in 1999 to honor the long and outstanding service of Donna Shavlik, past director of ACE’s former Office of Women in Higher Education. It honors an individual whose leadership demonstrates a sustained commitment to advancing women in higher education through actions or initiatives enhancing women’s leadership and career development, campus climate, and mentoring of women at both the state and national levels.

ACE State Network Leadership Award

This award recognizes an outstanding and innovative program, sponsored by an ACE State Network or by a college or university that helped advance or support women or women’s issues in higher education.

Reginald Wilson Diversity Leadership Award

Established to honor Reginald Wilson, the founding director of the Office of Minority Concerns, this award honors individuals who have demonstrated leadership and commitment on a national level to the advancement of racial and ethnic minorities and other underrepresented populations in higher education.

ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation

This award has two categories—one for institutions with student populations of 12,001 or more and the other for institutions with up to 12,000 students—and recognizes colleges or universities that, in a period of great change in higher education, have responded to challenges in innovative and creative ways that allow the institution to thrive.

ACE Student of the Year Award

The ACE Student of the Year Award recognizes two adult learners who have benefited academically or professionally from making use of ACE’s credit recommendations for workforce or military training. Each ACE Student of the Year receives a scholarship to continue their education.
