Published: July 15, 2019

Letter from ACE President Ted Mitchell to the House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship in advance of the July 16 hearing on “Policy Changes and Processing Delays at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.” The purpose of the hearing is to examine the depth and breadth of the processing delays and the role of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policies in these delays.

Mitchell writes that a core problem is the lack of predictability that surrounds issuing visas for international students and employers, and he outlines steps the administration can take to better communicate that process.
