Get the Inside Story on What’s Ahead for Higher Education and Public Policy at ACE2020
Published: October 28, 2019

Just a few months before Election Day 2020 and in the middle of the primary season, ACE2020 will offer valuable opportunities for campus leaders to learn what to expect from policymakers and candidates on topics such as immigration, international students, Title IX, and Higher Education Act (HEA) reauthorization.

Among the public policy-focused sessions at ACE2020, ACE's 102nd Annual Meeting set for March 14-16 in San Diego, California, will be ACE Senior Vice President Terry W. Hartle's federal relations update, a comprehensive and always highly attended overview of higher education policy.

A host of higher education-related policy questions will be front and center next year, including an expected Supreme Court decision on the Trump administration's decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy; the impact of new Title IX campus sexual assault regulations; the Department of Education's enforcement of a previously obscure foreign gift and contract reporting requirement; and whether HEA reauthorization will be stalled in Congress.

Whether those or other issues are at the top of the agenda in March, Hartle will detail the current status of all the important topics affecting higher education at the federal level.

ACE2020 is the country's most distinguished higher education event, attracting more than 1,500 leaders from presidents to deans. Attendees will gain knowledge about practical solutions for many of the challenges higher education faces today, network with leaders from across all institutional types, and be inspired by the achievements of colleagues and the insights of a diverse slate of speakers.
