Among the major plenary speakers ACE has announced is Freeman A. Hrabowski III, president emeritus of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and innovative national higher education leader, and Sethuraman Panchanathan, director of the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Hrabowski, who retired as president of UMBC last summer after more than three decades of visionary leadership that turned his institution into a national research powerhouse and exemplar of inclusive excellence, began his appointment as an ACE Centennial Fellow in August. Panchanathan became the 15th NSF director after being unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2020 and oversees the only government agency charged with advancing all fields of scientific discovery, technological innovation and STEM education. Additional speakers will be announced soon.

Hundreds of higher education leaders attend ACE's Annual Meeting to learn the latest about every facet of higher education, network with colleagues, and bring future-forward, data-driven insights back to campus. Thought-provoking content, inspiring plenaries, and new connection opportunities will enable attendees to become important architects of their institutions' future. Specific topics of ACE2023 are grand challenges, agility and transformation, equity today and tomorrow, and the future of leadership.
