First Major Speakers Announced for ACE2022
October 18, 2021

One of the longest-tenured college presidents in the country and an award-winning journalist will be featured speakers at ACE2022, ACE’s annual meeting set for March 5-7 in San Diego.

Sunday afternoon, William R. Harvey, president of Hampton University since 1978, will deliver the keynote address at the Robert H. Atwell Plenary, sponsored by Fidelity Investments and named by the ACE Board of Directors for the former ACE president who served from 1984-96. The Monday Luncheon Plenary will feature Maria Hinojosa, creator of the Futuro Media Group and anchor and executive producer of the Peabody Award-winning show Latino USA.

Under the innovative leadership of Harvey, who also is the owner of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Houghton, MI, Hampton’s enrollment has increased from about 2,700 students to over 6,300, and the average SAT score of entering freshmen has increased approximately 300 points.

Hinojosa created Futuro Media Group in 2010 to fulfill a mission to create multimedia content for and about the new American mainstream in the service of empowering people to navigate the complexities of an increasingly diverse and connected world.
