Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of the 5th Year Inside Blended Learning Bundle.

Learning Outcomes:

  • understand the NEC requirements related to service equipment, swimming pools, and fountains
  • understand emergency and standby system installation requirements, over 1000-volt requirements, and those for remote-control, signaling and power-limited circuits
  • understand installation and code requirements related to wire mesh basket tray, surface nonmetallic raceways, in-floor installations, and multioutlet assemblies
  • understand NEC requirements for solar photovolatic systems
  • determine electrical load calculations, range and appliance calculations, voltage drop calculations, and multifamily dwelling and residential loads calculations in accordance with the NEC
  • understand what to expect after apprenticeship and to be a successful journey-level worker
  • understand torque, torque theory, specific definitions, torque conversion, friction, phases of fastening, and factors that affect torque, basic principles of fasteners, types of torque wrenches and screwdrivers, and required procedures for torque application to electrical equipment.
