Description

Objective:

The course objective to provide a focus on the unique electrical systems found in all types of health care facilities and requirements of several design and installation codes and standards. The objective of Level II is focused on maintaining electrical distribution systems and equipment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the different electrical systems used in hospitals
  • Identify critical health care facilities’ systems and the difficulties electrical professionals will face in installing and maintaining them
  • Demonstrate the different protection techniques in critical care areas
  • Apply codes and standards to the on-site generation of power and explain the installation difficulties electrical professionals must consider
  • Define risk assessment as it applies to health care facilities and explain the different classifications as they apply to patient care spaces
  • Explain the safe work practices that must be followed when working with energized conductors and equipment
