Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of the Code Advanced Bundle. This bundle is a combination of the following courses: Code, Standards, and Practices 6, Code, Standards, and Practices 7, Electrical Code Calculations, Level II, and Electrical Code Calculations, Level III.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the components, configurations, and key standards associated with WMCT
  • Identify the applicable NEC grounding and bonding requirements
  • Demonstrate how to properly size WMCT
  • Locate the applicable NEC requirements that apply to surface nonmetallic raceway installations
  • Identify the uses permitted and the uses not permitted for surface nonmetallic raceways
  • Identify the various practical field applications for floor wiring and the products available for these applications in wood floors and concrete floors, both pre-pour and post-pour
  • Identify the uses permitted and the uses not permitted for multioutlet assemblies
  • Locate the requirements for installing solar electrical equipment in the eight parts of Article 690
  • Perform basic branch-circuit voltage drop calculations using common circuit parameters and values of Chapter 9, Table 8
  • Perform calculations based upon the voltage drop equation when the wire size, ampacity, or length of a circuit is unknown
  • Calculate cable tray fills for multiconductor cables in various types of cable trays
  • Calculate the ampacity of supply conductors for individual welders of various types
