Description

Objective:

The course objective is to introduce the fundamentals of access control and Level II is to introduce how locking devices impact life safety and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Learning Outcomes:

describe the types and functions of electronic locks and define electrical characteristics that affect locks
define applicable life safety codes and standards and describe operational and safety concerns associated with using magnetic locks

describe the basic functions and minimum requirements for access control
explain how access control panels communicate and describe how integration can be utilized to improve the functionality of the system
